He is listed as a martyr on March 24, the day of his death. Their process is<BR/>much less involved than the Roman Catholic one. There's no miracles or such needed. The process of getting in is a matter of a committee voting to approve it. That's all. Pretty much all you need to do is inspire a lot of people with your witness and it helps if you die in some dramatic way. Others who have been added are: Harriet Tubman, Sojourner Truth, John Wesley, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, John Donne, Martin Luther, George Herbert, C.S. Lewis, and Martin Luther King Jr. They are not often called "saint" unless they were biblical characters (St. Matthew, St. Luke, St. Mary the Virgin) or if they are just referred to as such in common parlance (St. Francis of Assisi). But yes, Romero was added to the calendar at the 2006 General Convention of the Episcopal Church.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
