What a remarkable ceremony! It was done with dignity and joy. Archbishop Paglia’s remarks at the end seemed to encompass the whole meaning of the day - reconciliation, peace and dying to self for the sake of others. His special mention of Fr. Rutilio Grande, SJ, seems to indicate that this is not the end of the process, but rather the beginning of a new understanding of martyrdom in the modern era.
